Monzie Blue (aka Monica Krogstad) is a vocalist, songwriter and creator from Norway, living just outside Oslo.
Music and storytelling has always been a great part of her life, from playing orchestral percussion and singing in choirs as a young girl, to rediscovering her voice as a soloist and talent for writing, well into her adult years.
As a vocalist in several different genres, and a versatile songwriter, she has now found a place to thrive for a while. Her songs are wrapped up in soft jazzy piano arrangements, born through collaborations with not just one, but two acclaimed Swedish jazz pianists / producers.
Her debut single "Promise me nothing" was released in November 2023, featuring jazz pianist, co-writer and producer Anders Wihk.
Her debut album "Love lost and returned", was released in April 2024, and is a collaboration with pianist, synth wizard, composer and producer, Ivan Blomqvist.
The album was celebrated with a release concert on the 21. April at the Victoria Nasjonale Jazzscene in Oslo.
Since then Monzie Blue has released several singles, and is working on an EP titled "Saving it up for winter" to be released early November. A collection of heart and soul warming tunes to ease the toll of Scandinavian wintertime.
